Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026
Wrenly helps families track chores, points, and rewards. This policy explains what we store, why, and how to delete it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we store
- Parents: your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash). If you reset your password, we briefly keep a one-time code (also only as a hash) that expires after 15 minutes.
- Your family: the household name and time zone you choose, and a household code that another parent can enter to join your household (you can reset it at any time in Settings → Household).
- Kids: the first name or nickname a parent enters, an optional 4-digit PIN (stored only as a hash), an optional birthday (month and day only, never the year), and the character a kid designs.
- Activity: the tasks and rewards parents create, and the points history (tasks completed, rewards redeemed, adjustments). For tasks that need a grown-up's OK, we also keep each approval request (which kid, which task, and when) until a parent approves or declines it.
- Kid devices: when a parent sets up a kid's own phone or tablet, we create a one-time 6-digit pairing code. It expires after 10 minutes and works only once. Once a device is set up, we store a sign-in session for it so the kid stays signed in; a parent can end all kid sessions at any time (Settings → Sign Out All Kid Devices).
If a parent allows notifications, we store that iPhone's push notification device token (an address Apple gives us for that phone) so we can tell them when a kid finishes a task, asks for a grown-up's OK, or redeems a reward; it's removed when they sign out or delete the account.
We do not collect location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or device tracking data. There are no ads, no analytics or tracking tools, and no third-party sign-in.
How we use it
Only to run Wrenly for your family: signing you in, showing your family's tasks, points, and rewards, and keeping each family's data separate from every other family's. We never sell or share your data, and we never use it for advertising.
Children
Kid profiles are created and controlled by a parent. Kids can only use Wrenly on a device where a parent has signed in and turned on kid mode. We don't ask kids for any personal information beyond the name a parent sets (which a kid may change to a nickname), and kids can't contact anyone or see other families. A parent can view, change, or delete a kid's information at any time.
Where it's stored
Wrenly's server and database are hosted by Railway in the United States. Password reset emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service; it receives only your email address and the code, for the purpose of delivering that one message. To protect your points history from loss, we keep daily encrypted-in-transit backups in a private repository for up to 14 days. Your sign-in on the iPhone app is stored in the device's Keychain.
Deleting your data
A parent can delete their account at any time from the app: Settings → Delete Account. If another parent is in the household, only that parent's account is deleted. If they are the last parent, this immediately and permanently deletes every kid, task, reward, and points entry in the household. Copies in backups are removed as backups age out, within 14 days.
